Chocolate chip cookies taste much better when I leave the chocolate chips out and add walnuts and coconut instead. Also, for those of you out there in tumblrville who might bake… the last few times I have made chocolate chip cookies, they flatten out too much and don’t keep their rounded cookie shape. Can somebody tell me why this might be or just give me a good recipe where the cookies hold a nice shape to them?

My little sister and her friend started a pretend band called ”Kitty Cat Sass”. Immediately after the naming of the band, they began shouting it out with tambourines banging and heart and soul piano filling the air. I like that they had no idea what Kitty Cat Sass sounds like when you shout it quickly.

I finally bought a microphone. It’s not fuzzy. it hears things I didn’t know microphones can hear. It sounds nice and warm when I play my classical guitar through it. I can put 20 tracks on a song and not worry about a gross sounding noisy recording. It cost me more money than I’ve ever spent on anything music related in my life, but I felt like having this is the only way I’ll be able to really make this record the way it sounds in my brain. I love writing, recording, and sharing music with friends and family and anyone else who will listen, and I can’t quite express how excited I am to be able to finally make something I can feel truly proud of.

I’ll update this thing a bunch with pictures and covers and all that when I start recording. I think it’ll be a fun project.

Ryan and I decided we’re going to start a club in Kalamazoo called the White Collar Running Society. We feel there just isn’t enough class in the sport of running, so the club will go on brisk jogs a couple times a week dressed in a suit and tie and matching white Asics.

During the summer, I sort of secretly wrote this whole album based on a bunch of stories I’d heard throughout my life of guys getting their hearts broken. I took the stories and molded parts together and made my own little story about a guy talking about a girl named Annie Green before, during and after he knew her. For the most part the songs weren’t very good and it was just something I did for fun and as an attempt at writing a little different. I found those songs again, and decided to write one more about after he knew Annie.

Anyhow, this song is called ”Annie Green won’t speak to me”. I hope you like it.
